Once your referral is accepted by the CEW service, it typically takes 10-12 months before your patient is seen in clinic.
Please ensure that you patient’s recent blood tests are forwarded to us (including genetic results). Please consider whether a referral to a community dietician or local services would be suitable during the period your patient is waiting to be seen in CEW.
Please note that the responsibility for the child’s care remains with the referrer until patient is seen in clinic. If comorbidities are identified in screening, these should be managed and parallel referrals considered, along local guidelines.
In addition, adult obesity services now operate in most areas, open to referrals or self-referrals.
